StatSoft Announces Participation in Florida International University’s (FIU) School of
Computing and Information Sciences and Advanced Research Programs
TULSA, Okla. – STATSOFT, Inc. (www.statsoft.com) announces that it has been selected to supply
STATISTICA software for use in FIU’s School of Computing and Information Sciences. The School will
use STATISTICA Data Miner to teach data mining courses for undergraduate and graduate students as
well as to conduct advanced research. Dr. Tao Li, the school’s data mining expert and recognized
researcher who has published papers in leading data mining conferences such as SIGKDD, SIGIR,
ICML, ICDM and SIAM Data Mining, stated “With the addition of Data Miner, we expect our school to
be at the ‘cutting edge’ of data mining technology and an excellent location for student training.”
