![]() | Shop-floor Operators in SEWSS have two primary responsibilities: entering data and monitoring a specific set of products and processes for quality. Data may be entered via keyboard, gage, bar code wand, or from an automated data collection device.![]() When Operators log on to SEWSS, the system recognizes who they are and shows them only the areas of the production process in which they are involved. As new data are entered, the QC charts update in real-time. When a process goes out-of-control, has non-random variation, or begins to shift, a user-defined response occurs. For example, an audible alarm can be sounded, the operator can be prompted for a cause and an action, an e-mail can be sent to a supervisor, the production line can be stopped, etc. Also, the system can be configured such that a chart for a process is only shown to the operator when a problem occurs. Logging In Users have a user-name and password; SEWSS knows who they are and customizes the view for specific permission levels and areas of responsibilityEasy-to-use Data Entry Interfaces Data entry screens were designed to be as simple as possible for users with limited computer experienceReal-time Monitoring As new data are collected, operators watch the QC charts update in real-time
Automatic Alarm NotificationWhen an out-of-control condition occurs, you define the event that occurs: prompt for cause/action, audible alarm, e-mail to a supervisor, stopping the line, etc.
