Integrate with a multitude of other applications such as Excel, C++, Java, etc.
Access data from virtually anywhere with powerful and intuitive query tools that facilitate processing of extremely large datasets.
Conveniently save queries for repeated analyses.
Rapidly access and process data from remote databases without creating local copies with the optional In-Place Database Processing (IDP), an advanced database access technology developed at StatSoft. IDP supports high-performance, direct interface between external data sets residing on remote servers and the analytic functionality of STATISTICA products making it ideal for large data mining and exploratory data analysis tasks.
Almost every aspect of the STATISTICA system offers a unique level of functionality. This includes many measurable (quantitative) dimensions such as:
Speed of numerical, graphics, and database management operations.STATISTICA features a unique system of numerical optimizations and highly-optimized memory management which are largely responsible for the unmatched speed of the program. It also includes a proprietary screen redraw and region selection system which refreshes, redraws, and highlights complex sets of graphical objects at speeds limited only by the computer hardware (and the drivers), additionally contributing to the program's overall responsiveness. The advanced multithreading technology implemented in STATISTICA additionally contributes to the program responsiveness (e.g., all complex graphs and graphical displays redraw in separate threads "in the background" allowing you to continue your interactive work).
Multitasking. You can run simultaneously multiple instances of STATISTICA, each running multiple analyses of data from multiple and simultaneously open input datasets and queries (and the results can be organized into separate projects). STATISTICA's input and output datasets and graphs can be of practically unlimited size and they can be comprised of hierarchies of documents of various types. The output can be directed to a multitude of output channels - such as high performance workbooks and reports of unlimited capacity, the Internet, etc.
Size of supported analyses/designs. Most of the analytic, graphics, and data management procedures of STATISTICA can process designs that are much larger than any competing product and in most instances those designs are only limited by the hardware (and the operating system software) of the computer. The system procedures of STATISTICA are optimized to handle extremely large datasets. STATISTICA Visual Basic can handle the largest computational problems that your current hardware (and system software) will allow. The enterprise versions of STATISTICA include options to query and rapidly process data from remote servers "in place" (i.e., without creating a local copy of the requested subset), thus offering you not only significant speed gains but also allowing you to process datasets that exceed the capacity of the local storage device.
STATISTICA Visual Basic.STATISTICA Visual Basic adds an arsenal of more than 11,000 new functions to the standard comprehensive syntax of Visual Basic, thus comprising one of the largest and richest development environments available.
Size of data files (practically unlimited).STATISTICA data files can contain practically unlimited numbers of records (cases) and fields (variables). The maximum size of individual records supported in STATISTICA data files is larger than in any competing, commercially available application. Each cell in STATISTICA tables (which can include unlimited multimedia contents) can store a practically unlimited number of characters. There is no limit to the length of the variable names, text values, value labels, case names, etc.
Precision of numerical operations.STATISTICA features extended ("quadruple") accuracy math operations capable of handling even extreme cases of small relative variances in the input data and other demanding precision benchmarks (please refer to the section on Precision and the set of Validation Benchmarks of numerical precision and statistical accuracy).
Number of statistical and data management methods, procedures, and options.STATISTICA features hundreds of tests, methods and procedures integrated within one software system. Also, as mentioned before, STATISTICA Visual Basic adds an arsenal of more than 11,000 new functions to the standard comprehensive syntax of Visual Basic thus comprising one of the largest and richest development environments available.
Number of graphs and graph customization options; there are hundreds of types of graphs and countless graph combinations supported in STATISTICA. Also, there is an unmatched number of graph customization facilities and tools to design custom graphs and custom multigraphics displays of practically unlimited complexity (they are available to the user either via interactive dialogs and pop-up menus, or a built-in programming language, STATISTICA Visual Basic).
Quickness of the user interface, as measured by the number of mouse clicks or keystrokes necessary to complete an analysis. Also, flexible and easy to use facilities are included to further simplify the user interface by creating "one-click shortcuts" by assigning custom procedures of unlimited complexity, or recorded or edited macros to buttons on floating toolbars and/or to hot keys. Time saving options are available to repeat a specified design for a number of variables, or to have STATISTICA automatically pick up all unique values of grouping variables. Wizards simplify specifying complex models (e.g., in SEPATH) or to write custom procedures (in STATISTICA Visual Basic) or even spreadsheet formulas.
